Over the last week, we had only 0.4mm of rain, so you might be tempted to think the water levels in the Tilshead aquifer and the River Till fell. Well, no they didn’t. The river levels rose slowly until Thursday and only fell slightly on Friday. Pretty much the same thing happened in the aquifer.
That means we have had a total of five pulses of water over the course of the winter, which is a couple more than usual. There is still time to see the start of a sixth before recording stops for this year.
A fine and sunny day today. Tomorrow will start fine and sunny with increasing cloud moving in during the day. There is a chance of a little rain overnight into Tuesday, and showers may continue until the end of the week with temperatures falling again. There is an increasing chance of rain and even the remote possibility of sleet as we move towards mid-month. Unsettled weather seems likely through the rest of the month with the possibility of more fine weather for the first week in April.
